Agoura Hills splits neatly into two very different service areas from a chimney standpoint. Old Agoura, north of the freeway, is horse-property country with older ranch homes on larger lots, and those houses tend to have substantial real masonry fireplaces built when that was simply how it was done. Every wood fire leaves creosote behind, a tar-like residue that condenses on the flue wall as smoke cools on its way up.
